The pledge to become a Lifeguard has a dual purpose.

 

For those that need support in troubled times – the pledge is a commitment to value, respect, and appreciate yourself. By asking for help you are guarding your own life.

For friends and family of someone that needs support – being a Lifeguard means being available, supportive, and understanding of that someone. By offering help you are guarding their life.

By taking the pledge – you can be part of the coalition that helps to identify and prevent teen suicides. Inspired by the lack of resources available to teens, their families, and the greater Central Florida region – the Mental Health Association of Central Florida has initiated an overreaching goal of bringing teen suicide attempts and fatalities to a halt.
